The Cuenca, though it may have less of a reputation than the Montecristi, benefits all the same from handcrafting of quality. The difference between the two rests essentially in use of thicker straw which allows the hat to be woven in day to one week. Unlike the Montecristi it is bleached white or tinted a color. The Cuenca is hat of quality, maintaining suppleness and the hardiness traditionally required, thus one gets a lot for a moderate price.
